How do you get this thing to log? I enabled logging but no conversations are being logged.

Edit: It only logs sign on and off????
Edit: It logs when you close the window.

If there is no real logging in DeadAIM... I'm going to cry. I installed AIM 5 to use this with, now I have to reinstall AIM 4 so I can use AIM+. WHY IS IT SO HARD TO PUT LOGGING IN YOUR PROGRAM??

mine logs the whole convo, not just sign on and off. Are you sure you have your options set correctly?

edit: don't cry! :(

There is no setting to log conversations... I looked in preferences and there were only options to log sign on, sign off, away, back from away....

I would if I liked ugly skins, a clunky program, and the inability to change text background color.

1) Any Skin is better than AIM. They have some very nice lookin skins out there now. My favs are microsopic and quicksilver.
2) Clunky?
3) My background color is changed as we speak.

Fergot to mention...

- The logging is Fantastic
- It has the ability to rename contacts to their real names... (my favorite feature)

1) I skin Windows kthx. I don't want my AIM client using some ugly cow skin or quasifuturistic early 90s crap.
2) Yes it's very clunky because of all the clients it integrates.
3) No it's not. You changed the background color of your window, not your text background color.

AIM+ logging is much better. It logs it in reatime rather than when you close the window. Therefore, DeadAIM IS a piece of crap.

DeadAIM is not a piece of crap.

I dunno about your problem though Jellomancer. I have mine set to log everything, and it ends up logging the conversations as well, even though there is no explicit option to do so. <shrug>

Don't know what to tell ya bud.

DeadAim is awesome, my only complaint is that if your computer DOES crash, it doesn't save the active IM logs. Other than that, it's good.

i use to like AIM+ too, but deadaim has pretty much everything. Plus the tabbing thing is cool too.

Correct on point one. On the wishlist for new features, logging away messages and lenth of time away was listed.
Correct on point two. It doesn't actually save the log until you close the IM window. Which is one thing that the other programs (Trillian, Aim+) do a little bit better. They archive the convo as it happens.

As long as you have all the options enabled and logging itself enabled, you should be getting a record of what you were talking about.

Who freaking cares about skinning?

Anyways.....I love DeadAIM, my ONLY gripe is that I think it's pretty bad with memory/system resources. I think there were some problems with that they the developer(s) knew about. But other than that, it's great.

I used Trillian... then i just got annoyed since i was only using it for Aim so it was pretty pointless, moved on to Aim+ *great program i switched cause DeadAim supported the newer AIM and never went back to Aim+ *I think they updated to support the new AIM. Anyways DeadAIM is great so far.

TAB Instant Messege Windows!!!! woohoo :)

you've obviously never tried trillian or you'd realize 1 and 2 are not even valid complaints
then again, if you have tried it, maybe you were too stupid to know how to use it? :)
