Anyone use CPU cooling programs anymore?

You know, like Rain, CPUidle, CPUcool, etc. Or have these gone the way of the 486? ;)

Ah, that must be the 'cpu idle process' I've seen in the Win2k process listing....but Win98 doesn't have such a thing, right?

yes I aggree cpuidle pro 6 is a good program to use I have winXP and it still manages to drop my cpu temp by 10 degrees F

Thanks. I grabbed the CPUIdle extreme alpha, took me from 42c to 31c. Nice!

That'll hold me until I get an SLK-900 or something....;)

Get yourselves a copy of WPCREDIT and WPCRSET, and find out if you can enable the CPU cooling option for your motherboard chipset.

I use them on an ABIT NF7-S Rev 2.0 and get a drop of about 9-10 degrees, plus you don't have any extra programs running and munching up resources, like CPUcool etc.
