Anyone use Comcast@Home? Anyone actually happy with them?

We have had their cable modem service for about a year and have not been very impressed. Outages are frequent, tech support are morons, and as for accounting....oh boy....

We referred a friend back in January who signed up and was supposed to earn us a free month of service. The free month has never showed up on our bill.

After 7 months of phone calls we still do not have it. We have had every excuse you can imagine. 3 times they have said they credited it and will show up on my next bill.....never has - do they just blatantly lie or are really they so imcompetent??

Last month we had our Cable TV switched back on. The first appointment they had to connect us - the guy didn't show up. So we were to be getting free installation....

So...on this months bill, as well as no @Home referral credit they are charging me $37 to connect up my TV service.

I wish I wish I wish we had DSL available. Unfortunately, they are it when it comes to broadband connections......

Geez...sorry, had to vent.

Crap, that sucks. I'm moving to a small-ish town in Indiana in a month and the only service that I can get is Comcast. You've made me afraid!

Murpheeeee,
Sorry to hear that your local office is full of idiots. I can't vouch for anything but Tier2 tech support. And for that, I can only vouch for the Beaverton Oregon call center. We are very competent in what we do. If you ever get Tier2 and it happens to be the Dallas TX site, hang up. You'll be more happy sitting on hold even for an hour to get another call center than you will be spending more money trying to get your PC fixed from having TX hose your box.

Anyway, Comcast calls are probably about 40% of my @Home calls. Their customers always seem to need the most help. 😉 Just kidding. 🙂 Anyway, if you have trouble, give me a PM with your @Home username and I'll see if I can get some time at work and call you and get you some real help. K? 🙂
