I have a thin rust stain on my deck, its going to irritate me. Does CLR get rid of rust stains on oil stain treated wood?

You might want to wait for a chemist to reply, but I'd expect CLR to turn rust a color like dark, not just make it vanish. I'd first try scrubbing with a stiff brush and detergent, then power washing if that wasn't enough, but suspect that the effort to remove most of the rust, will leave the remaining surface looking different than the surrounding area.

One thing you could try is putting some in a tiny spot to see what happens instead of treating the whole area.

How big of a stain?

I highly doubt you're going to be able to remove it with out agitating it and when you do that it's going to remove the color staining from the wood.

Bleach will also remove rust if you keep it damp with paper towels, but I think you're also going to run into the issue where it lightens up the deck color in that one spot.

BTW, CLR sucks at removing rust. Zep makes a similar product that works way better.

Oxalic acid.

Follow instructions and test first somewhere inconspicuous.
