Anyone use Claritin regularly?

I have super bad summer allergies. I've taken Zyrtec and Allegra and they work fine. But they're perscription only and tough for me to get. I see that Claritin is now over the counter. Has anyone taken this and how well does it work for you?

Zyrtec makes me sleepy.

Allegra worked, then worked less well, so I switched to OTC Claritin. It works too, but I may have to switch back to Allegra. Seems like after several months, my body builds up a resistance to the one I use consistently.

Claritin works great for me, but I know more than a few people it doesn't do squat for. They take Zyrtec and it works great. My only advice is try it and see if it works...

My wife. She uses Claritin and it cures her fairly well.

I have terrible allergies, especially ragweed. I have tried *everything*. Claritin does not work very well for me. Zyrtec is okay, but makes me drowsy.

Last August, I finally found what I had been waiting for a long time. My allergist prescribed a combination of Singulair and Astelin. Astelin is a nasal spray. The difference was just amazing. I actually don't dread ragweed anymore. HTH.

i find that if claritin doesnt work, alavert does. i like alavert because it does not cause drowsiness to me

Claritin is too expensive to use on a regular basis. I buy the generic Equate brand Benedryl and Sudafed medicines at Walmart. Far cheaper than the name brands and they work just as well IMO.

Claritin is not nearly strong enough for my allergies. I was taking Allegra-D every other season and alternating with Clarinex the prescription one. Both seem to do a decent job when alternated back and forth. My body works up a tolerance to them after one season so I have to switch.

Same here. However, it doesn't seem to do anything at all for my GF, so she still has to take Benadryl Maximum strength.

Claritin (loratadine) works OK for me, but my fiancee's allergies are much worse. She'll use the loratadine at the start of the season, but when her allergies get more intense she has to switch to a combination of Allegra and Benadryl.

I use claritin now and then. Sometimes it helps sometimes it doesn't. Haven't tried anything else really. I only started getting allergies 2 years ago.

Alavert is Claritin

spray works well. Nasacort of Flonase should. If you can go to the doctor and they will load you up on drugs.

Same here. Benadryl is my recreational drug of choice 😛 It is the same active ingredient for most OTC sleeping pills.
