Anyone use BofA?

I've been using Bank of America for my business accounts lately, and ING Direct for my personal accounts. The problem is, all of my money comes in through the business account and I find myself transferring money constantly to ING. To be honest, this can be a pain.

I know Bank of America isn't the best bank out there, but they did give my company credit at a time when *no other bank* would (and this was a mere few months ago, so it was after the crisis). And we've proven that relationship to them over the past two years we've done business with them.

So long story short, while I've used them for business banking, I have not used them for personal banking much. Anyone here a fan of them? Anyone here use both ING and BofA and choose to use BofA as their primary checking?

BofA customer since 95. If there's an issue with them, it's 'cause I fucked up. No problem with them.

And yeah, I have ING for "savings" and BofA for checking.

I've used a free personal checking account from BofA for ~13 years. Have always given me great customer service over the phone and in person. Even gone above and beyond a couple times. Also were the only ones that would give me a credit card when I had no credit history.

I also have a free Chase checking account. Much prefer the BofA one. No BofA hate here.

This is exactly what I have. No complaints.

3rded.

I also have a few CDs with ING.

Though, while I have had zero problems, personally, with BOA since 2008 when I opened my account, my sister-in-law has had nothing but hassles with them since my brother's death (2009) and dealing with payments on insured mortgage when they purchased a house in early 2008 (before he became ill).

that treatment, alone, has made me consider abandoning them.

BofA is fine. Been a customer since Fleet acquired NatWest, and BofA acquired Fleet. Better than 15 years anyway. They're big enough to be available and they provide decent service. I can't think of any other really big pluses or minuses. I give them props for having their local ATMs running on generators right after Sandy hit us and the power went out. Stuff like that builds a lot of good will.

doing deposits at ATMs is easy and quick, i dont know the last time i had to walk into a branch office. (i get direct deposit, but i get a reimbursement check each month for phone/insurance from work)

been with b of a for several years now, no issues.

My wife has/had a CC with them, since they acquired her previous card company. There was an obvious fraudulent charge she got on it, a day before her card was canceled by them due to some database being compromised. They gave us a bunch of shit about removing it, did several repetitive do-nothing "investigations" before sending us letters indicating they had fapped on it and decided it was still our problem. So we canceled the card and now they're doing that dumbfuck thing where they don't actually cancel the card in an effort to ass fuck you on the way out. It was only after we started the cancellation process that a wizard was called in to do the impossible the fraudulent charge was removed. But I think we learned our lesson about dealing with them, which is that we cannot afford to do business with them since they may fuck us over at any time.

I use Ally & BofA. Love the BofA mobile app... hate the Ally mobile app. Ally has the best rates... even if they still suck. BofA is mostly my cash deposit account since I can't deposit cash to Ally. Have to say I love the ATMs and just throwing a whole stack of bills in it and it counts it for you. And yes, I still check, but it's kind of cool and it's always been accurate.

Our local BoA has been very unprofessional in the past. I once made an appointment to meet with a rep ... and he never showed up! I waited in the waiting area for an hour before being helped. once the Branch Manager heard that I had been stood up I was treated like royalty. It was at that time that I informed them that thte purpose of my visit was to close out my Father's account so that I could consolidate his savings/checking accounts at the Credit Union.

A friend uses BoA and refers to them as the "boa constrictor" yet he still uses them. I too have not used a bank in 35 years.

Credit union all the way ...

I like BoA. I have a basic checking and savings account as well as a credit card. Never had an issue. I don't pay any monthly fees either.

When I left my job at BofA the first thing I did was to shut down my accounts and transfer them to a local credit union.

I'm curious as to why ome would choose to stick with a large banking organization. Please educate me on how it would benefit someone be to keep their personal savings/checking accounts at BofA instead of a credit union.

I use Chase and love their services.

- No fees on any account, ever.
- I earn interest on even my checkings (small but better than nothing)
- Easy online access controls
- I can write anyone a check and Chase will print and mail it for me at NO cost to me
- Easy deposit ATM's. No more envelopes - just cash and checks
- I can deposit checks via my iPhone
- They are located everywhere I've travelled to so far
- I can send someone money to their e-mail account as long as they also have Chase (and select other banks)
- Chase checks are cashed immediately with no processing delays (a lot of business use Chase)

And that is just off the top of my head. The only gripe I've had with them is they would pressure my wife into opening a card if she went in for something (this was before she was on my same account). One time, she said no thanks and they still opened one on her.

EDIT:

Oh yes - I can see all my credit cards as well as my business & personal accounts all on the same login. This one is big but I've done it for so long I take it for granted. I can then pool all my points together from ANY card that I've opened with them if I choose to.

Wow, Chase sounds a helluva lot better than BoA.

To be fair, part of it is because I have 3 accounts with them. I also have a business credit card with them to get some benefits, and I'm sure part of my benefits is because I have a good amount of money in the bank for my age. But still, they give me reason to keep my money there.

I have savings/checking/mma/mortgage, i guess depending on where you are and the branch. The mortgage broker i had was really good, did the original finance when he was at wamu and refinance when he moved to boa

I have Wells for business and personal.

Given that I am on the road a lot; it makes it easier to transfer funds for family use.
One personal account is grandfathered from fees; the other is not. I can accept the small monthly fee for the peace of mind that the funds get there for the family immediately.

The only thing I have with BofA is a AAA credit card. I've never had any problems. I switched to PNC for checkings/savings a few months ago.
