Anyone use Blutack instead of Thermal 'frag' Tape?

I tried using Therma 'frag' Tape on my ramsink and i felt they are flimsy contact at best.
Would have prefer some pressue on my mosfets which i think Blutack can provide.

Would a small dot of blutack at either ends be safe? Rather them not melt of self-destruct..lol

Still would smear some thermal mx2 on the rest of those mosfets, just needed to keep my ramsink tighten down, but not permanently.

Thanks

I don't know if blutak is "permanent", but to test your idea with a reversible setup (meaning you can remove it and have no lasting effects of having done the experiment) you could get some small binder clips and clamp down the ends of your ramsinks to apply the clamping pressure you are after.

Do you worry about the metal ramsink contacting your mobo ic pins?

Presumably you would position the binder clips so they were no closer to the mobo components that the metal ramsink itself.

used to put a dab of superglue on 2 corners and as5 in the middle back in the days when you had to cut your own hs's out of a bigger piece (before you could buy ones made for different parts...)... worked fine on replacing the junk hs's on nb's and old vid cards... jsut had to be careful not to make a mess or overlap things...

yep, done this plenty of times, it works a treat when done properly...however it isn't really reversible should you decide to sell the component in question.

Well my ramsink fits perfectly hence no sticking out parts. Did a check and appears blutack might melt under heat.
How about UHU glue? I really do not want a permenant stick here.
