Anyone use apple boxes? I have a question!

I'm thinking about using a photographers' apple box (one of these) for converting to a puzzle box. If someone here has either a Matthews or Empire half height, full size (12x20x4") apple box, could you peek inside the box to see if there are any internal cross braces or anything else in there that partitions the interior of the box? For my purpose, I need a box that doesn't have any internal obstructions so a ball could roll around inside it from end to end and side to side. Corner support blocks wouldn't be a problem.
