Anyone use an HTC EVO on Metro PCS

I Googled this, and there are a couple threads on xda-developers. The problem is they're 30+ pages and 5 people seem to be saying 5 totally different things about it. From what I gather everything on the phone works as it should. But what's conflicting is the data speed claims. A few say they get 3g and a few others are saying only 1x. I live in an area where Metro offers EVDO. I'm thinking about selling my Droid 1 and getting an EVO, but 1x data sounds pretty bad.

Maybe a long shot but does anyone here have an EVO on Metro and care to tell me what kind of data speeds they get?
