ive used adblock for a long time but recently it seems like its blocking more pictures and stuff on webpages.has anyone had this issue,i ran my virus scanner this week and it had a couple of virus's that i removed but my adblock has been disabled for a while now so i dont know if that fixed it.im thinkin maybe it might of been something to do with the virus's i had because it seems to work fine when i disabled ad block

i was thinkin about reinstalling firefox and reinstalling adblock to see if maybe that made any difference

I think just about everyone that uses FF uses Adblock Plus. I am, and haven't had an issue with it blocking legit pictures.

If your adblock is disabled, how do you know it's blocking pictures?

because i had it enabled before.i disabled it and could see a bunch of pictures on the webpage(it was like a forum)that i couldnt see with my adblock on

im assuming its not the forum because no ones complained about it

I used AdBlock Plus forever...but now I use AdBlock Edge with the Fanboy Easylist Merged Ultimate List.

Never had any negative issues.

Use Adblock Edge , much lighter, doesn't come with the option to enable non intrusive ads. I switched from ABP last year and never looked back

Also I run Disconnect to disable tracking

but you've never had any issues like what im talkin about with adblock edge?

disconnect actually sounds like a pretty good add on the only add on for firefox i really ever use is adblock

no because I stopped using ABP long back! it has become so bloated....

intrusive ads by default is checked (WTF! that's the whole point I install an adblocker coz I want NO ADS)

malware blocking

tracking blocking

just too much stuff

I'd rather use a dedicated tracking blocker who focus only on that, does a better job

AdblockEdge is exactly the same as ABP. It's not less "bloated" or anything else. It's only purpose is to remove a checkbox that can be unchecked by anyone.

Maybe the problem is your filters? Check the items on your custom filter (maybe you accidentally added a few sites to your blocklist). I would also try deleting your subscriptions and resubscribing again or try using another filter subscription

Use "Open blockable items" to see what's blocked on a page. Blocked items are shown in red. You can select Edit filter to see which list is blocking the images and disable the filter.

apparently when i reinstalled firefox and installed adblock edge it works fine now.but are there any other good add ons for firefox besides adblock and disconnect

AdBlock Plus for life, really. Much thanks to Newtomic for showing it to me, ten years ago... The internet is CRAP without it.

noscript is my other must-have, but that can be pretty intensive and hands-on if you don't keep yourself limited to small portion of the web

I have a pretty large list of addons, and since I'm not illiterate, I port my profile around and don't usually install all my addons all over again...

But off the top of my head, my most liked addons are:

Stylish
Adblock Plus
Secure Login
Tab Mix Plus
NoScript
Status-4-Evar
Stay-Open Menu
Firebug
DownThemAll!
LocationBar Enhancer
Tab Scope
UnPlug
...
