A mouse jiggle plugs into a usb port and periodically jiggles to mouse to prevent the computer from going to sleep, screensaver coming on.

I do a lot of repairs on XP, Vista etc where I can't boot into normal mode and instead go into safe mode and run a virus scan, antimalware scan, etc. Not all options to change sleep, etc work on those operating systems so I want something to make sure the computer goes to sleep.

Has anyone had any experience with one? Does anyone know the difference between the fast and slow models at the link?

Thanks

Wouldn't it be better 99% of the time to just turn off the screensaver/sleep mode?

"the fast version prevents you from using your mouse since it bumps it so often"

Ok now I want one of these to sneak into the back of my friend's computer :D

On your own computer, maybe.

But at a place of work, University, etc, they can often be heavily locked down, and may auto-magically lock the computer down (e.g. after 2 minutes of inactivity) until you log in again. Many people won't have enough access rights to disable this feature.
So it saves you having to re-login repeatedly.

Isn't there freeware available to accomplish what you want?

If the computer is heavily locked down, it may not allow unauthorized programs to run.

As I mentioned depending on the OS some won't let you change those settings in Safe Mode.
