Anyone use a memory management program like rambooster?

The problem with RAMBOOSTER and programs like that is that is compresses memory with an algorythm. Extra cpu cycles are needed to uncompress the memory.

I would agree with madrat. I have never had luck with those programs. Save some cash and look for a for a good deal on some more mem..

I never have much luck with them neither... if you are using win9x, those program do help with the memory leak issue, but overall their effect is quite minimal... Besides, it slows the computer down with those programs running! Do more harm than good...

I think I read a article on HK computer magazine to compare several (10?) memory management softwares and it seems that some of them are quite useful... one was called something like memory monster or something? Any idea??
Thanks!

Ugh.... I haven't read (probably smarter people) posts to this but WTF would you pay for a RAM booster program when you could just buy some more RAM? It's so freaking cheap now that there's just no reason to infect you OS with some program that's only going to cause you problems in end.

Buy more RAM. That said, you'll never wonder if your RAM compression software proggie is causing you problems and/or slowing you down (which it probably is).

The key is NOT to "boost" the RAM speed or what-so-ever, the key is some of these software will actually help "re-arrange" or "clean up" the memory that was used by other programes.
