I looked at all the stuff that was offered and it was usually too busy, with long URLs.
It just so happens that my mom's exact name.com was available.
Post in here if you are interested.

Moved to OT by for faster and fuller response by user request under highly understandable circumstances.

Me neither. I'm a nuts and bolts server guy. I have installed gallery and I'm working on a guestbook, but I need a little help on a landing page to look nice. It could be a hacked up template for all I care. I just can't get my head into it.
I would gladly pay for a bit of help.

Is there a specific platform that you're using, such a CMS like Joomla or Wordpress?

Nope. I am getting the backend stuff together and I found some templates on the web, but I was hoping somebody who builds sites all the time will either mod one of those or have a good idea.
A home page with a couple of links

Maybe not, but I'm just thinking in terms of making things easier. You could probably set something up with WordPress in no time at all... it has built-in image gallery support and static pages are a cinch to set up.

Would you like to have mostly static pages and maybe update a few pictures manually (not hard, can be shown how to do in a few steps)? It might be much easier in the long run as far as design and a quick setup over a CMS.

I have installed coppermine already for the slideshows and images. I couple of static pages is all I need really. The images used there will not be changed, and will be limited to a couple at most

I think from personal experience it would be much easier to just make a great static layout, otherwise you have to theme all the software individually because (while many of them use a template engine like Smarty), they all have different hooks to call in the information.

It doesn't seem too hard. Feel free to send a PM if I can assist.

I can help as well. I do more server-side programming experience than client side but I am plenty familiar with all of the JS frameworks.

I don't do any design though. I suck at it :)
