Maybe we should try reducing the number of players. Maybe a 12 or 16 player league?

I would go change it to 12 or 16, but for some reason I can't log on to the online stuff anymore... when it says "downloading player data" or whatever it just kinda loops the background music and seems to freeze... anyone else having this problem? maybe it's related to the server patching?

I haven't experienced that yet, but sometimes it just says it cant connect to the network; but then all I do is try again a few secs later and I get on. Did you save the online roster it asks you to save? I did; I think you're probably having a problem d/ling it everytime you log on if you didnt save it, and its right where it freezes.
