Anyone tryout the new nVIDIA Detonator 3 Driver v7.17 ??

Anyone try the new ones out for speed and compatability testing? I was going to install Win2K and saw these drivers are the latest..

I provided links for those who didn't know they were out..

Any input would be nice but if you actually have had a chance to benchmark the new drivers please post your results..

Actaully, the feedback I've heard is that Dx8 final with the 7.17 drivers improves D3D performance - particularly in UT.

I'm always leary of a new version of DX anyway. My suggestion whenever there's been a new DX is to only install it if a game you install requires it - and if it does, the game will come with a copy of it and prompt you to install it.

Let's also keep in mind that the 7.17 drivers aren't official yet - until they're posted on NVidia's official downloads page, I consider them a beta. 6.31 is still the official Det3 driver.

Yeah i am not going to install direct x8 probably until Nvidia releases new offical drivers.
