anyone try/use a HDMI switch

I have an LCD that is a couple years old and only has 1 HDMI port. How 'good' are these products? I'll upgrade eventually but I got the 32" LCD for under $400 and at that time multiple HDMI ports weren't common on lower-tier TVs.
 
I have the HDX-501 5 port HDMI switch from monoprice and it works great! Currently have 4 of the ports used and have plans for the 5th.... no problems at all.
