it looks fake. All of the soldiers move their legs at the same time, and there are gun noises, but no one dies or fires (?). This would be excusable, but the graphics aren't even that great.

I agree with bluewall21, although I think the demo was to demonstrate the ability to run large amounts of character models with relatively OK detail. That said, the fact that they all run in a relatively straight line without any other animation going on (they are essentially duplicates of eachother), no enviromental influences such as some character models moving over or around enviromental obstacles (boulders, explosions, etc), and the general "plain-ness" of the demo - kind of detracts from the supposed AI thing.

Maybe if the their Brilinear Filtering was turned off, everything would be better. ;-)

It's really cheesy.... It looks like ants running the same stretch of ground over and over and over and over....... :p

Repost. In any case, it doesn't work with the R3xx wrapper-all I see is the soldiers' shadows.

I am with you. No, it was not the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. It is a technology demo. All those objects to render in RT. It is an interesting experiment.

Now that I think about it.... upcoming games like Rome Total War could use this feature. Of course RTW uses tens of thousands of units on the field of battle :p

I meant to reply to this a few days ago but I forgot. I ran this on my X800 XT, and it runs pretty good. It isn't anything too special as far as graphics go, just a bunch of little army guys running through a canyon. The ruby demo is much cooler. But, technologically speaking, it is fairly impressive, if it is ever put to use in an actual game.
