Anyone try Papa Murphy's Take and Bake Pizza?

The 5 pound Chicago pizza sounds pretty good, and at $12 for two its a pretty good deal. Has anyone ever tried this before or have any suggestions? Thanks, Ill post pics later when I'm cooking them.

OK, so I got two family size deep dish pizzas, one a Chicago style and the other a Chicken-Bacon Ranch. At first glance the pizzas are huge and heavy (they do weight over 5 pounds each) but look like they're a little light on sauce.

I had some pizza sauce in the fridge so I added some to the top and added some mushrooms, jalapenos, and pepper jack cheese on top.

Pizza with fixins

Into the oven they go, should be done in half an hour.

Pizza's all done, I must say that it does leave a pleasant aroma through the house, and it does look huge after it is cooked.

The taste is pretty good, the crust is doughy but it's crispy and not greasy which is a definite plus. Overall when you factor in the "less greasy factor" for your health and the dirt cheap price, I'd rate it above the major chains but a tad below the fancy gourmet restaurants.

I've never tried the chicago pizza, but the normal sizes are better than frozen pizza, but worse than places like dominoes or pizza hut.

I really like papa murphys. Plus they are always on sale here for like 5.99 so they are a great deal too.

I hate that pizza. The dough is bread-y and the corn meal they use is too big and the sauce always tastes bitter or burnt. I prefer Tony's frozen pizzas for $2.50 to Papa Murphy's any day.

Since I got a pizza stone and pizza peel, I make my own pizza most of the time. I mimic what we had in Florence and there's, frankly, nothing better this side of the Atlantic.

The secret with Domino's is to always get deep dish. I don't know what it is, but deep dish makes it good.

My favorite pizza chain, though, still has to be Straw Hat.

That is correct loki, it's very good pizza too. Sadly the one near me was purchased by a video store and they attempted to sell pizza and movies but failed so it closed.

Yeah, I thought it was weird at first too. And I have never seen it anywhere else but Papa Murphy's. But for 5 bucks you can take home a simple cheese or peperoni, cook it yourself and have a great pizza for the price of frozen...

Being new in Cali, I did not know this.
One day on the way to work, I wanted to get a pizza for the gang and saw Papa Murphys along the way.
Went in and bought a couple....I was like "this is cheap"
5 mins later, they handed me 2 uncooked pizza....I'm like WTF ??
I really did not know....they offered me a refund.
Since we have a pizza at work, I took it anyway.

The pizza is alright...too dough-y.
If I wanted frozen pizza, I'd buy DiGiorno or something.

Dominoes is nasty!! Papa Murphys is #3 for my favorite Pizza's ..if Dominoes was on that list they rank like #20 , below a Tontionos and that is not saying alot!

Agreed on Round Pizzza #1 but they are expensive as hell.
