Anyone tried vision-correcting contact lenses?

I was recently told that a new type of contact lense was made that slowly corrects one's vision while they sleep so that eventually they will not need any sort of vision correction. Supposedly, it reshapes the cornea and causes minor discomfort while sleeping. It has been compared to a retainer for teeth.

I have searched the Internet and haven't found much information about them. I would like to find more information about them before I go to the eyedoctor and he calls me a dumbass and says they don't exist.

Has anyone had any experience with them? Is the vision correction permanent? I can't seem to tell whether or not the correction is supposed to be permanent or just last for a few hours.

one of my sister's friends has these. Just like you said, wears them at night, and has good eye sight during the day. Very expensive.

Been around for a while now... it's basically a hard contact len that's shaped specifically to your eye... you wear them at night, and the contact len forces your eyeball into the correct shape... Dont remember how long you have to wear them for or how long the effects last...

As others have said, they are really expensive... And there's no long-term tests done (as far as I know) for any side-effects...
