By messing around with the L2 & L9 bridges ,as per this article

Unfortunatly the links he gives for the test are dead:(
Can at least 128k of L2 cache be made to work on Durons?

It probably will, but once in a while, i think the CPU is turned into a duron because the extra cache isn't stable, or something like that.

ohhh really hehehe

as far as I know they don't waste silicon realestate on broken non-working cache
you can't add more cache to durons through software
but i could be wrong......

Did you read the article?

But ita also discovered that closing the default open rightmost L2 bridge on a Mobile Duron increased its effective L2 cache from 64KB to 256KB,

I've been given ita's email addresses ,I'll see if I can find anything out.

I got an email back from the guy whose old site is linked at John Caricks site ,it seems only the mobile Duron can have the more L2 cache released:(
Here's what he said (I have made some grammar corrections).

Regrettable the L2 Cache cannot be increased on the regular Durons.
The regular Duron is manufactured using the Morgan core or Spitfire core.

However there is a Duron that is exceptionally manufactured using the Palomino core.
Buy this special Duron,as it is considered that it is reduced and shipped by L2
Cache size.
It turns out that L2Cache size is expandable only in this special (mobile)Duron.

The example of special Duron is shown below.
DHM0800AVS1BM?@Mobile Duron 800
A photograph is appended.
Although written to the core as Athlon, it turns out that it is Duron from
OPN.

Seeing as I can't show you the photo here I'll give you the rest of the core numbers from that cpu.

So there you have it,only the mobile Durons can have their cache increased.
Where could we get these Mobile Durons from? & what would they cost compare to the regular Durons?

Here's the link to Ita's new site
