Anyone tried the new norton corporate Client security app?

Link @ newegg

Symantec corporate has been good to us with clients and such in SMB enviroments, and when shopping for it again I came upon this.

How would you rate it as a solution vs just buying NAV corporate 10.0? How obtrusive would you say it is vompare with norton's simple antivirus app on both the server and the clients?

Two business packs of corporate 10.0 for the ten licenses will cost $438 vs this thing @$499.

Info?

Thanks

I have been reading a lot of anti-symantec material lately all over the net. I can understand why they write such things, but am hesitant to try other brands.

Trendmicro and CA seem like the two likeliest competitorz but I have to do more research before I even consider them further...

anyone?

Currently I am looking at Trendmicro's Neatsuite and CA's Business Protection Suite for Microsoft Small Business Server Standard Edition

The network in question is a 10person SMB 2003 network that is not running exchange.

I have it setup at the wife's office. With three clients and one "server" to protect it was only slightly more that 4 copies of stand alone.

That's why I purchased it as well as for the learning experience.

The clients barely know it's running. The Firewall app for the clients has a discovery feature or something similar. Once I found that and ran it, all the mysterious notifications went away. I say myserious, because the users don't understand what they are all about.

The firewall can be remotely administered, but I really don't understand enough about rules and such to deal with it. I wish I did.

I bought version 2.0 within about 10 days of the 3.0 release and that entitled us to a free upgrade. I had some licensing problems doing the upgrade. I was on the phone with their people for 2 hours getting it straightened out. They were very nice. Although long, it was not an unpleasant experience at all.

They have a lot of documentation and flash tutorials at the website that were realy helpfull.

As far as the effectiveness of the products, well I do believe there are better ones. I doubt I will remain with them when the year is up. I should have done more research ahead of the purchase.

You can probably tell I'm not an IT professional. I'm just the guy that does all the computer related work at the wife's office. I doubt I can elaborate any more that I have, but if you have any questions, fire away.

damn. I am in a pickle.

I was sold on selling Norton corporate and then norton client S 3.0 to a client tomorow but now the trendmicro neatsuite is looking very appealingL🙁
