well the official reatail price is $500, so a $20-off sale is not at all unreasonable
the damn resellers are screwing everyone price-wise because of the limited quantities

Well it being the only thing I can find for under 500 bucks I think its pretty reasonable. And how are they rippin people off if they're selling it for lower than MSRP?

no no, i mean places like gameve.com and other internet resellers sometimes selling it for $50-$100 over the msrp (this applies more to the 6800 ultra)

check out the prices for the x800 xt a gameve though, really good: http://gameve.com/gve/Store/Category.aspx?catid=23

Ooooh sexy gameve sells for 463 but yeah, I do agree with you when it comes to resellers. I always like to shop around, its great when you see sites trying to sell things 200 bucks over how much it should be.

of course it's CAD but still. Do the math...

Resellers suck hard.

oh grrrrrr... don't even get me started on canadian resellers, i should know, i live in canada
don't get me wrong, ncix.com is canada's newegg, but canadian resellers include the huge markups like others, but then include a god-awful exchange rate not even close to the real thing (most stuff has a great price, but video card markups in canada are the absolute worst)
i buy all my hardware in the us and ship it to the us address of a friend's office, who works in the us
yay for green cards!

Resellers still sucks.

I'll stick with the Gigabyte vid card since they make good MBs. All the cards are the same anyway.

I've read somewhere on this forum that Gigabyte cards are good except that they don't stray from the original reference design.

That's the 500/1000 (core/mem) version of the XT right? If so, the price is in line with what others are selling them for. I recently picked up the VisionTek X800XT for $465 shipped from Xtreme Gear and it's a great card. The Gigabyte version of the XT has a slightly larger heatsink on it (same one Asus uses) so it would be interesting to see if it cools better.

Home from teh school, went online, great news. nForce4 ships today, MB's should be available within a month. That means I'll probably get the PCIe version of the GB board for a few more bucks.
