My A8N-SLI is fine but a little too sensitive. I'm running mission critical data rather than playing kiddie games and it scares the living daylights out of me. System stability is a big issue and while I like ASUS, always had a good response from their support, I don't really know if I can trust my GBP2,500 rig on my database. ah heck!
I am running AMD Athlon FX-55, 2Gb Kingston Value RAM (2 x KVR400X64C3A/1G), 4 x Maxtor 350Gb SATA 150 HDD using a striped and mirrored NVIDIA RAID as well as twin MSI NX6800GT's in SLI mode all powered nicely by an OCZ520W power unit. I'm running Windows XP with SP2. I haven't upgraded BIOS from delivery - scared to!
The VGA's come with the standard MSI 3D desktop software which I loaded. Big mistake, as the screen boots to windows it tries to load the 3DNA software and then just drops windows XP, retsarts and tries to load again. The only answer is to uninstall via safe mode.
Anyone tried this particular software, any bright ideas where and why it's falling down? Again I set up the rig to run mission critical data and I'm scared it can't even run standard desktop software. Maybe I should stick with my MSIK7N420 Pro which runs the package OK. that's why I suspect the A8N and posted here.
Appreciate your time in reading this.
Thx
