Anyone tried flashing BIOS with CD-RW?

My laptop doesn't have floppy drive. The only way to flash BIOS is using bootable CD. Is it reliable with CD?

Make a Win98 bootable cd with the flash utility and rom file on it too. When Win98 boots, it will create a ram drive. Copy the utility and the rom to the ram drive and flash it from there.

Yes, it worked fine for me on two occasions. But the slickest is flashing it on-line. Asus has that feature now. Sometimes not easy to access - but I got it on their Germany site.

I just flashed the bios with a cd-rw last week, board needed a bios update to see the floppy. - go figure. I got a bootdisk from bootdisk.com
