Anyone tried Dual Channel DDR with a DC?

The FSB on most motherboards is 64 bits wide (64 lane highway), The nForce2 takes Hwy 1 (bank 1), plus Hwy 2 (bank 2), and puts them together to make the equivilance of a 128 bit (128 lane highway) bus. That is the basis of it. DDR400 produces 3.2gb/second bandwidth on a 64 bit bus but enabiling DualChannel results in 6.4gb/second on a 128bit bus. And if they were to create a Quad Channel DDR controler that would result in 12.8gb/second (not gonna' happen any time soon!) on a 256bit bus.
 
I wish I could get some pc3200. Those Twin Bank Corsair modules look really nice 😀

I was lucky enough to get a week 45 JIUHB xp1700+ Thoroughbred B from newegg, which currently runs at 2.41 GHz with my EPoX 8RDA+. I am running 2 Crucial pc2100 modules at 192 MHz so I cannot get the fast memory timings. Running SETI on this, I was able to average 2 hrs 10 mins, but unable to hit sub-2 hr times (I didn't get those VHAR WUs 😛)

I need to get a pair of pc3200 to see the real stats 😉
 
The thing is, I think the chip can surpass even 2.4 GHz.. maybe even 2.5 GHz+ :Q
If only I had some watercooling.. then I could find out 😉

I'm eager to find out about using a pair of pc3200 for Dual Channel DDR with this rig, but unfortunately I'm broke for now. 😛

A bit of advice from my experience with the A7N8X Deluxe
if you get the board with the G version of the BIOS, and you try to change the multiplier (with a t-bred B), on post the system will fail and say "WARNING!! CPU has overspeed" or something like that.
and the voice post reporter will say "system failed due to CPU overclocking"

if you downgrade to the C or the E BIOS, you should then be able to change the multiplier
I am hoping the new ones after G will allow the multiplier change, but who knows....

Here's exactly what you need: The Secret BIOS It fixes many of the wacky glitches in The BIOS Of Doom (1001G), according to CoolLight and chizow.
 
Well, after extensive testing, I have found m my case that using Dual Channel DDR on an nForce board at 100 Mhz Frequency is nearly useless. My times were almost identical; 5 hours or 5 hours.

Board: MS-6353 nForce420.
Memory: Crucial 2100 DDR running at Cas3
CPU: 1700+ Running at 100 FSB (board bios does not correctly identify the chip.*shrugs*)
Dataset: 18 WU's for single channel and 26 for Dual channel. CSV availabe here If you want to see for yourself, or double check my work.

What is that, like a 70% OC?!?!!

Just $100 Canadian (~$66 american). Not bad for something that goes over 2 GHz consistently!
 
Almost a 70% overclock.. yep 😉

Those who received the Thoroughbred B JIUHB steppings generally get mixed results from o/cing - most have been able to push these xp1700s to 1.9GHz immediately.. some have been able to surpass 2.0GHz. Still others were able to push them further.. like my xp1700 running at 2.41GHz 😀 Seems like I got lucky and received one of the best overclocking xp1700's 😉

I think more people have been getting better results overclocking the xp2100+ Thoroughbred B as most of those consistently hit 2.0 - 2.2 GHz.
