I was thinking about buying a cheap celeron II and overclock it to 850. Has anyone tried this on a ASUS P2B? I am of cource going to buy a converter to put in the fcpga cpu.

If your P2B's PCB version is older than 1.12, then you may not have support for the lower 1.5 volts required by the Celeron 2. Older boards will go down to 1.80 volts as a minimum. This is fine for most C2s....you need to set the slotket manually to 1.80 volts and it will work with no problems. Setting to auto or lower than 1.80 will normally result in a board that will not boot up.

So all you need is the latest BIOS, a slotket set to 1.80 volts and your Celeron is ready to be overclocked.

I have a P2B-F running a CII 533@800 on a MSI converter.
Volts set to 1.65, Bios is 1013.
Board does not read the CPU temp but it does not seem to be too hot, Intel HS/Fan just barly warm. I don't know where to attach the thermistor to get a good reading. Just set this up about 3 hrs ago, Could not get this processor to run stable on my Soyo 6vca but it is purring along just fine on this BX.
good luck....
