Anyone thing the next ATI drivers will offer considerable Doom3 performance increases?

Currently have a 9800pro with a AthlonXP o/c'ed to 2500Mhz (3500+ or so), Doom3 performance is unacceptable. Considered moving to a X800 Pro but it is getting horribly spanked by the 6800...

Can ATI salvage this crap? Or should I just be moving on to nVidia? Many future games will be using this engine...and if ATI can't get their act together in OpenGL games things don't bode too well for them. I think I'll wait another month or two, see if ATI can clean up their act... :(

you think those guys know what they are writing about? They sure didn't back it up with any tests or whatever. Anyways time will tell, and when I am ready to buy, power consumption versus performance should be clearer and make for an easy choice.
