Anyone that can help with simple SQL work?

It took me a week to get Oracle installed and running properly... now I'm trying to familiarize myself with SQL*Plus and having a hard time.
If anyone can help me with some simple SQL questions.. (simple as in I'm new at this kind of questions... like "how should I modify this table")..
