I installed Ubuntu Maverick on my Studio 14z a few days ago, very nice. Mint usually spends more time on my systems than Ubuntu, but I tend to avoid the pre-release editions.

Not a guinea pig, but I'll definitely run it when it's released. Using Mint 9 now.
