Anyone taking the Professional Engineering Exam this coming April? I'm taking the Civil exam and would like to know what are some of your reference materials? Any pointer would be appreciated especially Seismic and Surveying references.

Thanks,

California eh? Get lindeberg's civil engineering reference manual and sample test books. They will walk you through everything you need to know.

the book I listed covers the general test. When I took the cali test someone from there loaned me the references to cover the seismic and survey and I don't remember what they were.

PE isn't important in my field (Aerospace). So far in my career, I've only met 2 people in my field that have their PE.

well PE in my field is VERY important. :( Also with a PE you'll get additional 15%-25% increase in salary so I better get it ASAP. ;)

hahaha...the thought of the PE exam cracks me up. I just took the FE or EIT (whatever you want to call it, the first exam before you can take the PE exam) this past april and that was a joke!

I'm a computer engineering grad so there were like 10 questions on computer stuff, a few electrical and the rest is ME/CivE stuff (of course those disciplines actually benefit from becoming a PE)

Needless to say I guessed on pretty much the whole test and passed. Finished the 8 hour test in about 3 hours. Good luck with your PE exam

Yes the FE/EIT was a joke but some people who aint as lucky as you are couldn't pass it even if they told it 10 times. :) and I do need Luck to pass the Professional Exam cause it is no longer a joke. the average passing percentage is around 50% at most.
