I am set to take the Hardware side of the test this Thursday. I have the Myers A+ book and have been studying for about two months now, also been taking as much free test questions on-line that I can find. I was just wondering to those people who have taken the new test is there any questions that surprised you? Should I be concentrating on one perticular topic? Is there any helpful hints you could tell me? I feel pretty good about the material, I guess I'm just nervous abit. 130 dollars is alot to blow if I fail it. Thanks for any replies....

Being A+ certified is probably worth more than $130 dollars, even if it takes a couple tries to pass, I don't think it's a big deal. Not that I think you'll fail, a well informed anandtecher should do just fine.

I felt the hardest part was all the printer stuff...but as long as you read up on it, you should do fine...

course being an Anand-whore helps....:)

the software section is easy if u know windows

i must say the printers consist on at least 7+ questions

these 7 may be needed if u bomb out on others
but if u are good with others the printers dont mean much to u

all u need is a 65% to pass

Is there a new test? I think they recently changed it, guess it's to keep little dumb kids like me from passing it. A+ when I took it must have really been a joke. I passed both my test in about 30 minutes I guess. One of the test I was just waiting for someone else to finish first, then I got sick of waiting and click grade now(I passed :)!). One of my test I had to take all by myself :(. I used Exam Essentials for the Software part of my test, was really really helpful. Good Luck!

the printer junk was the hardest, everything else was cake.

if you don't like win2k, install it on your pc and screw around with it for a while... thats what I did.
