I'm thinking of going tof a trip round Europe (starting in the UK, then going on the ferry to Holland -> Belgium -> France -> Switzerland -> Italy -> Slovenia -> Austria -> Czech Republic -> Poland -> German -> Denmark -> back to the UK on the ferry), probably in about 2 years time when I've finished university (a way off I know).
Any tips on what to plan, how far in advance you need to really think about what you're doing, what types of places to stay, how much to drive for each day etc etc?
I'm thinking I might spend maybe 1 day maximum in each country I go, maybe see a major city or something, but I'm not really sure.
So, if anyone's gone on a driving/motorbike/caravan trip, what did you do? Did you plan the exact route, book places to stay etc, or did you just take it as it came?
