Hey Everybody!

I just got my results back from the PSAT's a day ago.......
BTW, im in 10th grade

Verbal--57(translates into 570 int SAT)
Math----62(translates into 620 in SAT)
Writing Skills---53

Verbal----86% percentile of sophmores
Math----92% percentile of sophmores
Writing Skills----74% percentile of sophmores

National Merit Score---172
In the 80th Percentile compared to college bound Juniors

I heard that you need at least a 210 to get the national merit scholarship thing, is that true?

Anyway, post your scores, ridicule mine, or just nef:)

Math: 72
Writing Skills: 75

Yep this was the last chance for me...sounds like you've got a chance at being a finalist next year if you study up on vocab...I would just read a lot, I think that's the best way to do it. I've been in the journalism staff at my school for a while now too, that helps a ton with your writing.

PSATS not SATS.....the preliminaries that qualify you for national merit...

When I took it I got a 212. Of course, that year the cutoff for semi-finalist was 213. Oh well, that one point would only have been worth $8000 here. :frown:

geez, that really sucks can you really get 8000 bucks? that would be great if I could get that much.

I took them last year, got a 1250. Took SATs and got a 1330, so hopefully you can excpet the same increase those of you yet to take the SATs.

well, it all depends on where you go to school. if im not mistaken, my school gives out 1000 per semester if you were a semifinalist. and they will give you that each semester as long as you keep a 3.25 gpa for up to four years.

my school didnt distribute them my soph. or junior year until the day finals ended (they came in the mail) which would be one week from today.

ugh! I wish I got mine yet, there's been some hold up at my school with them. Hehe, there's a rumor going around that the psats in the area went through a mail center where anthrax was and thats why it's taken so long.. but i'll believe that when i see it in print hehe. This sorry sophomore will be happy if he broke 1100..

I felt bad that I didn't get 80 in math... btw, my english sucks.
so ended up getting bad SAT score during my senior year.... 1000
still got me into college. o well.
