Currently I have two HDTV's...and a Media Center Box....

Comcast is gouging me for Digital Cable and HBO......where for a few dollars more per month I can have Dish Platinum, one HD-DVR, one HD-Receiver and one SD Receiver with every channel including MOvie premiums for $90 a month from Dish......

I used to have directv and I loved it, but they didn't have HD locals, now Dish has all my locals in HD....

THoughts?

Is that an introductory price? I called Dish a few weeks ago and my prices were going to be considerably higher. Guess it sucks to be an existing customer.

DirecTV has a lot of locals in HD now as well. I get my locals in HD through them. (Though right now it does require a rather sizable 5-LNB dish) Just wanted to mention since you have had good experiences with DirecTV before.

I know people who have had it foir a year and then decided to cancel. They went through hell trying to get it canceled, i.e., little to no technicle or customer assistance.

The only thing I missed going from Cox to Dish was the "On-Demand" feature for HBO. That was awesome.

But other than that, Dish has better hardware, about 3x the number of HD channels, and was ultimately cheaper.

The quality of the HD channels on Comcast kicks the ass of DirecTv in my experience.

They can also have my Comcast 8 meg down when they pry it from my cold, lifeless hands.
