anyone suggest anything over the Gigabyte GA-7VRXP for my amd gamin system (around $100)

toms hardware seemed to like it and it looks to have some good features, any other suggestions though?

It is a good board, as long as you get the 2.0 revision, don't touch the 1.0 or 1.1 versions.

i would take either the epox 8k3a or 8k5a2 (both are well under $100) the 8k5a2 is the newer one, they both use the kt333 chipset, but the 8k5a2 has a newer southbridge

Yupperz, WTT001 is right about the ga-7vrxp revision # being important. It's like night and day. I just bought a 1.0 rev last week, and it would only boot when it deemed it to be necessary, so I took it back and they gave me a 2.0 rev inadvertantly. It works flawlessly. The guy at the store I bought the board at seemed to think that I tightened the screws too tight and screwed up the circuitry, but he ignored me when I explained that I only tightened the screw he was refferring to when the thing wouldn't post. I did it out of frustration after everything I had tried failed, and it wasn't that tight anyway. Anyhow, the point is, if you do go for this board, make sure you check the rev # on the pcb, 2.0 is a great board, while the 1.x blow hard.
