Anyone suggest a Video Card update?

Below is my setup. Does anyone suggest upgrading my video card? My 9800xt is nice, but i have been noticing some slow down with Doom 3 and HL2 when i jack my settings up , specifically AA. Is it worth shelling out the money? I figured I could sell my card on ebay then upgrade to something better to get me through the next wave of games, i.e. Stalker, Fear, BF2, ect. What cards would be worth it? I consider myself a hardcore gamer so I would like to stay a few steps ahead of the curve.

people seem to be selling 6800gt agp's as the switch to pci-e, your probably going to want that or an x800xl

yeah, i wait untili the new chipsets come out , but i wonder if the agp version is worth buying, given the new pci-express is out. My setup won't support pci-x though. Is PCI-X that much better then AGP?

You've got an otherwise great rig. Check spec/prices on the new gfx cards, but I'm thinking a 6800GT or X800XL would do you fine as suyggested above.

We're not using all the bandwithd of the AGP bus, so PCI-e at his time can't do any better than AGP. IMHO, no need to change mobo's for better gfx now.

thats what i figured with the 8x AGP slot. I recieved Battlefield 2 the other day and i jacked the setting all the way up to max with a little bit of AA and it runs smooth as anything. I was a bit nervous as to how that game would run. Sucks that the 754 pin mb i have isn't compatible with the new dual core athlons, that would be nice , but i think i'll be fine for now.

Good decision. Don't worry about dual core, by the time decent games are released that are actually multithreaded it will be time for a new system anyway.
