Anyone still running the gnex?

I recently sold my Galaxy S2 which is pretty similar spec-wise, I really had no complaints about the fluidity of UI and speed in apps. Have you factory-reset recently or considered running another ROM?

It's running Fitnugly's CM 10.2

I can't run CM 11 or anything 4.4 related because it makes my phone feel super slow.

I got rid of the Nexus 4 because I couldn't stand the battery life. I can't imagine using a Gnex.

Or am I the only one D:

Mine feels terribly slow, obvious lag in most apps.

You're on Verizon, aren't you? You don't have a lot of choice if the "Nexus" experience is what you're looking for.

You should just buy a MotoX. Could probably find one for $200 or so, would be a decent upgrade all around from a GNex.

I still am, on Verizon and still stock. Getting pretty tired of it at this point I must be honest, battery life is terrible, reception isn't great, and its really starting to lag. Problem is I don't want to lose my unlimited data, and right now I can't justify dishing out the money for a new phone. Been thinking about a motox though.

Heck, even a GS3 would be a massive upgrade over the G.Nex.
I Remember making the switch back when that came out, & the screen size, and color blew me away. As did the battery life & reception. Plus, it was very hackable

I'm still on a stock G.Nex, and yes it is starting to lag bad. Sometimes it takes over 10 seconds for just the keyboard to pop up (Swiftkey), and other apps are lagging. My battery life is alright, but I have an extended battery that I got new for free last year.

I have an upgrade, just don't know what to get...

What causes these things to start lagging so badly? I reset mine to stock every 6mo. or so and it seems that it gets slower, faster, every time I do a reset.

If you guys aren't at least on a 4.3 ROM (looking at Verizon owners), you should root and get the LagFix app. It runs the TRIM operation. Pro is on sale for $0.99 and lets you schedule the operation instead of doing it by hand.

Or upgrade to the Moto X for the best stock experience on Verizon if that's your situation.

I ditched my GNex a couple months ago and jumped from red to magenta. Saving money and enjoying the crap out of my Nexus 5.

If you still have unlimited, the answer is obviously "nothing, buy secondhand". If you don't, the answer is "why haven't you upgraded yet!?".

But definitely run the lagfix app for TRIM.

I don't have unlimited, and my reason for not upgrading yet is because nothing out there really strikes me as awesome. I think I'll wait for the LG G3 to be released, then decide then.

But I don't want to hijack this thread. Maybe I'll see how long I can get this G.Nex chugging...

Yeah, the keyboard lag started to happen to me when I ran AOKP 4.3 on my toro (Verizon Galaxy Nexus). Updating to AOKP 4.4 has helped a lot when running ART in stead of Dalvik. 4.4 felt much slower to me than 4.3 at first, which was already sluggish, but ART makes 4.4 feel much faster than 4.3 did for me.

I use mine around the house as iPod touch equivalent and to cast web videos from Chrome beta browser to Chromecast. It's on airplane mode with wifi enabled. It's GSM model running stock 4.3 build. Speed wise it feels fine. TRIM helps.

Mine feels like a dinosaur now, but really 2-3yr in the smartphone world means this thing has become ancient. It now would randomly reboot (though rare), freeze for up to 15-20 seconds when you launch an app, kick you out of an app (mainly browser), or lag horribly between photo swipes.

The keyboard does take some time to pop up. And apps aren't responsive until you wait a few seconds.

I'm going to get my mom's iP5 once she gets the 6 (when it comes out). Then the next year, when the 6s (or 7) comes out, I'll get my brother's 5S (if the 5 feels slow)
