Had to read through a couple times to figure out you mean Diablo 2.
For a second I thought we went old school and Doom 2 was popular again.

And in case you didnt yet notice, the latest patch pretty much killed the whole experience leech issue.
If you hang out with a level 99, killing baddass monsters you will see squat or next to squat for experience points.

Though it is nice when a high level person drops off some powerful toys for you. Makes playing go much quicker. Especially if you can convince them to part with some weak Set items.

Come to think of it, I havent even installed that puppy in almost a year.
I just upgraded my 74GB drive to 140. Let me get back to you.

Leveling hasn't been difficult so far. But then again I haven't hit level 80 yet. If that becomes a difficulty then screw D2! I thought blizz "fixed" the experience leech issue in 1.10 and it was still easy to level through trist runs, arcane runs, tomb, baal, etc. I'll just have to see for myself in the next few days. I plan to power level my sorc to around 75, then set up my bot to do pindle.

i remember replaying this game last summer...right when the latest patch 1.11 or 1.12 came out. i always played LAN or open battle net. i couldnt stand closed b.net for some reason...everyone had "whites" or "blacks" or "greens" whatever. i managed to get my hands on some though...and i remember people used to copy their characters and just dump their items to people for a price. gosh, those were the good ol' days. hard to believe d2 is a 6-7 year old game (1999!).

I just re-bought d2 (7.99 @ CC) and the expansion (regular price of 19.99). I haven't played it since 2000 when it first came out. I'm going to try to start a few Hardcore characters on US West and see how I do.

I started again this year with the new patch out, one of my favorite games of all time so I figured why not you know.. I blazed through the new patch with a skelomancer build, nightamre and hell no sweat :)

Only issue was close spots like the maggot lair, that took fvckin forever lol

D3 WHERE ARE YOU?

Seriously we need a higher resolution.

...I actually posted on this last week but I'll say it again because it's the truth. If they sold a graphics update expansion to D2 I think it would be bestseller for months.

Everyone still does but you have to DL the new ones lol. MH is part of D2. You're uber powerful and you're going to get there anyways why not just go faster. People say "becouse it's not intended" well, neither is cow leveling or baal runs or the like but everyone does them anyways. Read everything the creators said before they quit, basically they got fed up with cow running and baal runs and said that wasn't the "original intended style of play" but that's what has kept the game so insanely popular. They should just build MH in as a game option and let everyone enjoy playing the game how the like to.

I played D2 legit for a LONG TIME before I started hacking the game , and it was totally cool. But it took me so long to get the ultimate Magic Find gear....let me think..

Chance Guards. - Money gloves
Goldwrap - Money Belt
What was the amulet , armor combo....I can't remember... and there was something else.

Anyhow , I remember people wanting to party up with me to just get the drops that I could get. Playing legit does take a bit longer , but once you can hit the cow world with a necromancer with a blood golem , and that spell that returns damage....you own the game. Because you can just level up so darned fast.

But then the hacks.... -20 speed on everything , for super fast character....
I remember my strength being like 12 million or something ridiculous. Awesome. but there are always better hackers that whip your butt on the open B-net , and the last time I tried to play , I couldn't even log into a game with my mom and her friend , (yea , you heard that right) I got them hooked on it too....and now they are guildwars freaks.

The cow lvl hardly exists anymore since they changed how you gain xp. They changed the drop rates on bosses as well so MFing is totally different. You should try it again.

I was really into it last year. Stopped playing for a while but I would log in once in a while to remove the timer from my characters. Just picked up the urge to play it again only to find all of my characters expired. I haven't had the heart to delete them yet. I had a fair bit of time wrapped up into those characters. :(

Bought D2 (again!) at Walmart for $7.99 last week then got hooked and got LoD. Just finished an hour long session with my druid (single player). Expansion really helps the graphics by raising resolution. Anyway, this is hack 'n slash at it's very best. Sometimes you don't know how good a game is until you step back and view it from a perspective of time.....what has come before and since. D2/expansion still f'ing rules!
