I throw it in once in awhile. I still think the original is a better game than all the sequels. My favorite part of the game is flying and I much prefer the slower pace of the Mustangs and 109's compared to the jets in the later games. Overall, I like all the weapons, vehicles, and maps better than the later games.

Same here. I just went out and got the complete collection pack even though i had the original. There's a lan at my university this saturday and my friend said it would be a good idea to have the expansions.

Ditto.

Will be attending one this weekend actually. I expect there'll be plenty of '42/DC.

Holy shite, I haven't played that in so long. There were some really cool maps. Too bad that they didn't redo more 1942 maps for Battlefield 2... Now that would be an expansion that I would buy!

I really liked Wake Island remake for BF2, it's a good map.

I haven't played in a while, but damn, those were some good times. Even though I only played it for a few months, the levels I played were stunning. This Japanese island level is still fresh in my mind. It actually felt like war.

There is a big group of guys here at work that play it exclusively. I agree it was the best.

Blah, Desert Combat killed BF 1942. There was something a lot more satisfying about 1942, things weren't as fast, it didn't cater so much to the twitch gamer that DC did. I still enjoyed DC a lot, but I really missed the slower pace of 1942 sometimes.

I liked battlefield vietnam myself. While the personnel weapons were terrible and the balance between the sides atrocious, I managed to get good at flying (and ninja'ing) the huey's and with them and a good gunner you could just rule the map singlehandedly.
