Anyone still have a BIOS file for the V770 Ultra?

I put an old Viper V770 Ultra in an new box(seems to work fine in a different setup). I've been getting four small dots under the cursor in winME intermitently. I swapped out the mouse, changed the monitor, tried an identical motherboard, and reloaded OS, same artifacts. I think all thats left is the V770, so before I toss it I'd like to try a different BIOS file. If anyone still has one could you send it to die4hardware@hotmail.com. Thanks

It's a TNT2 Ultra chipset...it should work with the latest detonators. I wouldn't be concerned about having the absolute newest so settle for whatever the latest Detonator WHQL driver is.

Check nVidia.com

I'm looking for a copy of the V770 Ultra's BIOS file.

Yeah, but you said it in ENGLISH dummy and I read and write in.. hey wait a minute. When the hell did this happen? I can read English??? Holy sh1t!

seriously though: my bad, you may try with Dell or some of the OEMs. They were cranking out those Diamond V770s for a while.

Those guys suck! (Diamond I mean) I just did some digging and they don't have ANY version of bios available. See?? bastards.

Definately check with Dell. They oem'd those for a while and should have something available.

Try underclocking the core/memory. I had the same thing happen with my old geForce SDR. First the 3D modes went, then the 2D started to fritz. Thankfully I was still within the year's warranty and sent it back for replacement.

Got a gFDDR instead. 😀

DH -- I've checked through all my stuff, but I do not have any bios updates for the card. I have a Viper V770 Ultra in an older Dell box, and I ran it on winME for a while. I had bunch of old nvidia drivers that worked well for the card for various OS's, but I imagine you can still find those on the net somewhere. Let me know if you want to see what I have for older drivers.

Lastly, I found this comment at SonicBlue's (bought Diamond a while ago) support site. Maybe there is no bios update.

Good luck, sorry I couldn't help more!

Hey HeatMiser, if you get a chance, the next time you boot that Dell up could you read and post the BIOS version of your card. If its different than mine maybe you could make a copy of it for me if its not too much trouble. Thanks

what type of computer is this in?

if it's in a PC based on an ALi Aladdin chipset you could be experiencing the same problems everyone had when using a TNT2 card with that chipset. (I had those problems too)

Interestingly enough, it was on an A7A266(ALI).
