Anyone still considering Ivy Bridge?

Amazon will match Tigerdirect's prices if you're still considering picking one up and if you're a Prime member 3 dollar overnight shipping.

3570K - 209.99
3770K - 319.99

Obsolete? Wouldn't say so. You're just jealous that you made a silly mistake and bought a hotter CPU for nothing so you want others to share your grief 😛

JK, Sandy & Ivy 4 life. Also, I'm not advising anyone here to buy Sandy, but for Sandy users, it is a bad decision to "upgrade" to Ivy.

Don't even jest. Intel could really EOL it and then we'd be up a creek.

Give it a year and it'll be EOL'd

All depends on if you can afford it easily. To me 225 bucks isn't much at all but to some its a lot of money

I don't think it would be a smart decision to EOL Sandy in such a short time. Better make it dirt cheap and market it as "mainstream" compared to Ivy should some users still consider it. But yeah, no need to keep an old product, better just make lower-end new products for completing your arsenal.

Don't you already have an IVB discussion thread open?

I have like 5 Ivy threads 😀

Haswell will be here in 13 months. No use keeping Sandy around much after that

I have no reson to downgrade to ivy bridge 🙂

Here is my 24/7 setup

it will do 5.1 avx at 1.515 volts and benches at 5400 with 1.6 volts

"Laura:thank you, allow me a few moments to look into the order, please

Me😱k

Laura:you haven't received the order yet, correct?

Me:no i am at work

Laura:alright, allow me a few moments to check the options we have here, please

Me:supposed to be delivered today
ill gladly take an amazon credit if a refund is out of the question

Laura:is the lower price from another website?

Me:yes
tigerdirect

Laura:I recognize you have a choice of retailers and appreciate that you prefer to order from us. Unfortunately, we do not have a post-order price guarantee.
if the other price works better for you, you can go ahead and refuse the order, it will be sent back to us for a full refund
so you can place the order on the other website
I'm sorry for not having a better option for you right now"

With the 2500k hitting $170 at several major retailers here in Canada I see no reason to go with Ivy. Just pocket the $70 you will save and buy more memory or an SSD.

His GFLOPS seem low, I was getting 130+ at 5GHz.

Oh, right... HT.. LoL.

I can get higher intel burn tests with HT off but I was just showing 100% full load.

Any high clocked 2600k will out do an ivy,if you have a 2600k there is no reason at all to upgrade, enless you want to lower your bench scores

Its funny how all these people say they are hitting 4.6-4.8 on ivy without one screen shot of intel burn test running, heres a hint,it locks right up lol

AMazon is not very nice anymore. I am going to try to get them to adjust the $349 i paid sunday. They wouldn't price adjust my h100 .... bastards.

I am not going to shoot to the moon with this CPU. I want stability this time around.
