Anyone stayed in either the Hilton or Sheraton in Niagara Falls?

I'm going to be spending Saturday night in Niagara. I'm looking for the best hotel. I've stayed in both Hilton's and Sheraton's around the world and I've been most impressed with the Sheraton chain.

I want opinions on both hotels.

Cost isn't an issue, but I don't really give a toss about the view.

Oh, and are there any hot clubs/bars in town that I should be hitting up? What about the casinos?

I'm pretty sure there isn't a Hilton or Sheraton directly on the other side of the falls. Anyway, I'm talking about the (good) Canadian side.

I stayed at the Hilton. What they forget to tell you (or correct) in their brochure, is that you can't see the falls at all because there is now a Casino in front of them that completely obscures the view. Our lovely view was of unfinished construction. :|

The best hotel there is...uhh...rats, can't remember the exact name. It has "Fox" in it, and it's a very tall building right in front of the falls. The view is spectacular, and it's a real ***** hotel. Was like $150/night 10 years ago, so I'm not sure what the prices would be now.

Edit: Looks like they turned it into a Marriott now. Best view I've ever had from a hotel room. Check it out!

I dont know anything about hotels, but I do live in Niagara Falls, USA, so I can comment on the nightlife somewhat.

On the canadian side the drinking age is 19, so you get a lot of the under 21 US crowd over there. I haven't been to a club there in about 2 years but they were always a good time when I was 19-20 and in college. There is always something going on a Clifton Hill so you can hit that up, weather is pretty chilly out now, but at least it isnt snowing.

Havent been to the Fallsview casino, but have been to Casino Niagara. Table mins for blackjack were $25 canadian last time I was there on a Friday night, never been during the day. Fallsview has a poker room if youre into that.
