I fail to see the usefullness of Radio Shack most of the time. I don't know about the ones in the US, but the ones in Canada are all very small and everything there is overpriced.

For the actual electronic bits and pieces, they're great. Just don't even buy anything from them assembled.

I only buy parts there. Was in one yesterday looking for a male dsub 15 pin VGA connector (the plug on the end of a monitor cable).

They had:

- 9 pin female dsub VGA connector
- 9 pin male dsub VGA connector
- 15 pin female dsub VGA connector
- ....

Me: "Excuse me, you have both 9 pin dsubs and the female 15 pin dsub, are you out of male 15 pin ones?"
Employee: 'Actually, corporate stopped carrying the male 15 pin dsub at the end of last year.'
Me: "Ummmm - why? 9 pin is the old tech, 15 pin is the current one. You still carry the female one..."
Employee (looking embarassed): 'Well, they make these decisions based on sales data...'


ARGH.
