lol know problem looks fake but i once saw a guy on the forums who bought a pci-e video card and a agp8x mobo he was trying to get it to fit and had no idea why i kept looking at it wondering than i finally saw that it was pci-e.

 
Color me naive but wouldn't this work if you could remove the excess pins without somehow damaging the part (which would be the hard part obviously...). I seem to recall a test somewhere (Tom's?) of someone taping over the pins to simulate x8/x4/x2/x1 speeds. So theoreticly it'd work if you could somehow fit it in the slot. I'm not saying anyone should ever DO this but I was curious. 🙂
