With Jack Nicholson. I just watched it on Cinemax and have no one to discuss it with =(

I found the end confusing. So the love for that woman and her kid wasn?t genuine? Does he realize the murderer burns to death in the car wreck? Why is he waving his fist like a lunatic at the end? It all ended so suddenly...

It's actually a remake of a 1994 movie called In the Cold Light of Day, starring Richard E Grant.

http://us.imdb.com/Title?0110125

The original was better, but still not great. But he does get the bad guy at the end. Wonder why they changed it.....

Don't think so. I'm quite sure that Friedrich Dürrenmatt was the author of a book named like the movie. And the movie is just a hollywood-verison of that book. I actually really liked the movie. And no, he doesn't realize that the murder burned in the wreck.
