Anyone seen the Hellraiser movies?

I almost bought the whole box-set but thought twice about it after reading the IMDB boards.

I saw the first one a looooong time ago, and I'm actually a big horror movie buff. I just don't remember if it was good or not.

3 is the best of them all IMHO and bloodline is pretty good too. They have some of the best quotes in those movies.

See that brings up a good topic. I remember Hellraiser 1 being pretty freaky. What are some of the scariest movies you have ever seen? Freddy, Jason, and Micheal were never really that scary. PUPPET MASTER!!! Those were some freaky movies.

there's a box set? i love them all. the last two really get back to the purpose of the puzzle box. rent them first though, you may not like them all.

I just wanna know why they never released all the Phantasm movies on DVD... Those are some of the best horror flicks out there, and have a large cult following. The plot is actually pretty cool in a sci-fi way, and the tall man is bad a$$.

During my childhood love of horror movies, I must've watched them all a dozen times.

I don't remember them being that big on plot, but suspense/gore factor is :thumbsup:

The movies are good, definitely worth the money. Get the book too. More than worth it. The comics are interesting as well.

I actually didn't think 1 was very good, but I only started watching them last year, some of them have some scary parts but as a whole the movies just aren't very good...but Pinhead is scary, I guess I am scared more by the concept of Pinhead and Hellraiser than I am the movies.

1 is ok, relying more on Drama/Acting/story than on special effect. I liked the second one more, but the first one was very good.
