Saw the DVD at best buy. I had no idea that the Saturday Night Live skit with Phil Hartman was based on an actual movie. Has anyone seen this movie with Charleton Heston?
The reviews on amazon actually make it seem worth watching if you're into the Planet of the Apes style movies.

Here's a link.

It's good, and tasty too! Futurama has also had a whole series of references to it, like the Iron Chef episode where one of the base ingredients is Soylent Green, and another where Soylent Cola is mentioned.

The real name is "Make Room! Make Room!" (the original Harry Harrison novel).

They best part of that movie is the scoops! That part is hilarious. Of course the end quote is memorable as well.

Thats probably why I haven't seen it. The only way I see movies is either if they're on TV or on DVD. Haven't seen a VHS in ages.

Has it ever been shown on TV?

Yep, Soylent Green is one of those things that MANY movies and TV shows reference to.

Soylent green tastes like chicken!

Good flick, although I prefer Chuck's other classic "B" picture, Omega Man (which also just came out on DVD).
