Has anyone seen the original Shameless?

I've been watching the U.S. remake and now want to go back and watch the original.

How closely does the remake follow the original? Will watching it give spoilers for the U.S. one?
 
I tried watching it on Netflix. I gave up after 1 episode because I couldn't understand a word they were saying.
 
I liked it, but it got a bit monotonous after a couple of seasons of just the same shit over and over again.

never watched the US version.
 
I watched about 10 minutes of 1 ep. Acting in Shameless UK was nauseatingly bad. Production values equally as bad. Felt like a show from the early 80's. It seemed like a bad UK soap.
 
Never been a big fan of UK shows, I love the US version of Shameless though, just started the second season yesterday
