Anyone seen or used the InWin Q500 full tower ATX case? What are your thoughts.

i like them.. nice mobo tray, quality construction, overall a great case.

OTOH. you can get a antec SX830 for $80 shipped which is prolly $20-30 less then the Q500

What's the Antec SX830? I'll see if memory express has it...
is it better than the InWin Q500?

I can't wait for shipping...I have to buy local.

I love mine. It's really nice. There's nothing much to say that hasn't been said in thoes reviews.

Only thing I don't like is the wires for LED/power/reset buttons is too short to use the tray without opening the case. Also in order to get to the HDD cage you have to take everything off, I mean everything, all the sides and the bezel. Though that's not a problem, you can just leave out the screws.

What I really like is how all their products match. I've got two computers, but I don't have the space to get two full towers, so I got an S500, and they match, it's cool.

That's 10 bucks less than what I got mine for four months ago, where did you get your price? You can get one for ~$85 from AccessMicro.

I have a Q500 and it's nice :)
it's true that you have to take off all the covers to get at the HD tray, but I leave all that off anyway, so it's not a problem for me.

Great case. Not much to cut your fingers on, solid construction, good airflow, reasonably quiet. I've heard people complain about the drive racks, but don't know why - I don't go there that often. My only problem is that you have to remove the top lid before the side panels. Still, much better than the Acer, where you have to slide the side panels all the way back to remove them.

I'm using one right now.

Prefered it over the Addtronics 7890/7896 and HX-08 (I owned both of them).

I believe egghead.com caries one under SC-750. Supermicro rebadges these cases as there own. The only difference is the front of the case which is a bit more curved.

I like mine for the most part. But like chansen said, you have to take off the top to get the side panels off. Also, the LEDs are attached to the front bezel instead of the case so you can't remove it completely, which is kind of a pain for adding and removing drives in the 5 1/4" bays.

I have one and I definitely do not have to take off the top panel to remove the side panels. I know this for a fact because I do it all the time. The side panels are on rails, you line up the rails and slide. To take the panels off, I just push on the indentation on the side, and the panel slides off. I only have to take off the top panel to remove the front panel.

I like the case, and I'm pretty satisfied with mine. Two problems: one is that it's really tall... it barely fits under most desks, two is that there is inadequate cooling for hard disks and there's no real way to add fans to cool 3.5" hard disks without getting a cooling system and attaching it above or below or moving the drives to the 5.25" section above. The holes on the front of the case for moving air either in or out are way too small.

Overall, I'm satisfied with mine.

I've had the Q600 for about 3 years now and I'm very happy with it. The only problem I've had is that the power supply fan is noisy.

I've had an InWin Q500 Full Tower over a year now. The only drawback is this:
Make darn sure that when you mount your CRROM drives and such in the 5.25"
bays you use the LOWER ones nearest the MOBO...why...well your standard ribbon cables may be to short !!! Also as you add more devices the lateral "space" becomes quite congested as you add more ribbon cables.

Otherwise I have no issues, even with cooling. I'm running 5 fans with no problems.

I got two of these suckers... I like them, very good overall, but wish the power supply was higher so I can run some wires in that spot or put something else there like fan blowing towards CPU. Cables are hard to find especially floppy cable.. long ones,, I found some... Not bad, the power button gets stuck sometimes, you push in but wont come out.. happens to all inwin cases I own... power supply can be generic or powerman, be careful.. someguy try to rip me. Two HD lights, I use 1 for scsi and 1 for ide... not bad.. but could be better..

I second that...just pop the side panels off and go at it, I've never taken the top or front panel off to put together my computer.

It is a big case, that's for sure!! I use the top of the case as an extension to my desk...almost the same height.

Well, looks like they changed the design if you no longer have to remove the top to remove the side panels in turn.

I have two of them and love them. The older ones require removing the top before the side panels . . . the current ones do not.

For Athlon systems they have marginal 300 watt power supplies. I have changed mine from "stock issue" to Sparkle . . . very stable!

that is definitely a high quality case. I liked it.

Not as much as my SuperMIcro 750a, but it's still a damn good case for the $$$

:)

I have one and it's the best case I have ever owned. It cost me $90 about a year and a half ago with a 300W power supply. I've got almost every drive bay filled and am running a total of nine fans. It kicks ass.

Mine is older, so I do have to remove the top panel before removing the side panels.

Another vote for the inwin Q500. Ive had mine for over a year and its great. A couple of things do bother me.

The motherboard tray is very flimsy, if you push agaisnt it to hard, you can dent it or even bend it.

Also the power button gets stuck alot if your not careful.

It is a great case and it comes at a fair price compared to other full tower cases.
