My gf just called cox@home (phoenix), they said they supply a Toshiba 3100 cable modem. I have searched forums, pricewatch, and even toshiba.com and can't find it anywhere. Anyone heard of it? I was trying to find it cheaper than $200.

I am a Data Engineer for Cox Comm. in Gainesville, FL. Our old supply consisted of General Instruments 3100D, but we now carry the ToshibaPCX1100U. If you're system is using @Home, you have to get a @Home certified modem. Check out pricewatch.com. We're pretty lax, you can use just about anything that's DOCSIS compliant, as we are independent from @Home or Roadrunner.

The Toshiba's are better, as they only take about 30seconds to bootup. The Toshiba takes up to 2 minutes, but once it's up, it's up. The GI has a web interface, which is kinda nice to have, if you want to troubleshoot.
